Community Guidelines

Last updated: March 2026

Summary

  • Drive safely. Open Road tracks driving for fun and improvement — never encourage reckless or illegal driving.
  • Be respectful. Treat everyone in convoys, comments, and social features with respect.
  • Keep it real. Don't fake drives, manipulate scores, or misrepresent your driving data.
  • Protect privacy. Don't share other people's location data or personal information without consent.
  • No harmful content. No hate speech, harassment, threats, or illegal content of any kind.

1. Safe Driving First

1.1 Open Road is designed to help you understand and improve your driving. Never use the app in a way that encourages dangerous, reckless, or illegal driving behavior.

1.2 Do not use your phone while driving. Set up your drive before you start moving. Use hands-free features like convoy voice chat responsibly.

1.3 Speed data and driving scores are for personal insight and friendly competition — not a reason to drive unsafely. Always obey local traffic laws and speed limits.

1.4 Do not post or share content that glorifies dangerous driving, street racing, or any behavior that puts yourself or others at risk.

2. Respectful Community

2.1 Treat all Open Road users with respect. This includes convoy voice chat, drive sharing, social feed interactions, and any other communication within the app.

2.2 Prohibited behavior includes:

  • Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
  • Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic
  • Threats of violence or harm
  • Sexually explicit or inappropriate content
  • Spam, scams, or deceptive behavior

2.3 Convoy voice chat is a shared space. Be mindful of other participants. Excessive profanity, slurs, or abusive language will result in removal.

3. Honest Data

3.1 Do not manipulate, spoof, or fabricate driving data. This includes using GPS spoofing tools, modified app versions, or any method to create fake drives or inflate scores.

3.2 Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards or social features.

3.3 Your driving data should reflect real drives you have taken. Sharing fabricated or misleading drive data undermines the community.

4. Privacy & Safety

4.1 Respect other people's privacy. Do not share another person's location, driving data, or personal information without their explicit consent.

4.2 Do not use Open Road features to stalk, track, or monitor anyone without their knowledge and consent.

4.3 Marker and zone data is community-contributed. Report them honestly and accurately.

4.4 Do not use community-reported markers or zones to facilitate illegal activity.

5. Content Standards

5.1 All user-generated content (profile photos, vehicle photos, drive names, comments) must comply with these guidelines.

5.2 Do not upload content that is illegal, violent, sexually explicit, or that infringes on anyone's intellectual property rights.

5.3 Profile and vehicle photos should be appropriate for all audiences.

6. Enforcement

6.1 Violations of these guidelines may result in:

  • Warning
  • Temporary suspension of social features
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent account termination

6.2 Severe violations (threats of violence, illegal activity, harassment) may result in immediate permanent suspension without warning.

6.3 We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines at our discretion.

6.4 If you encounter behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it through the app or contact us at openroad2026@gmail.com.

7. Changes

7.1 We may update these guidelines from time to time. Continued use of Open Road after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
