This 66-mile mountain ribbon climbs from La Cañada Flintridge into the San Gabriel Mountains, offering miles of flowing switchbacks just above Los Angeles. It runs about 66 miles along California State Route 2 in California. Drive time: about 1 h 45 min one way.

It starts at Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge and ends at the Pearblossom Highway (SR-138) northeast of Wrightwood. On the way it passes the Mount Wilson Road turnoff to Mount Wilson Observatory, Newcomb's Ranch, Chilao Flats, Islip Saddle and Dawson Saddle, and the Mt. Waterman and Mountain High ski areas near Wrightwood.
