Driving Roads / Transfagarasan
Romania's DN7C climbs to about 6,699 feet near Balea Lake on a roughly 90 km mountain stretch of dramatic switchbacks between the country's highest peaks. It runs about 56 miles along DN7C in Romania, roughly ~3-4 hours one way of driving.
Replay the alpine switchback section and track elevation and cornering; the seasonal, twisty climb rewards smoothness over speed.
Open only in warmer months with sheer drops and tunnels; keep speeds low on the hairpins and watch for fog, wildlife and parked sightseers.
Open Road is free on iPhone and Android.
